This review is from: Hitachi KC10DFL 12-Volt Li-Ion Micro Driver Drill (Twin Pack) (DIY & Tools) This is a great little package, and amazing value for money considering the cost of just the driver alone. Hitachi power tools are very well put together (lots of trade guys I know use them) and these are no exception. The bag they come in is very handy and holds both drivers and the charger. There is also room for plenty of the other bits etc.I've already got an 18V combi drill, but found that it is too heavy and big to be used in some situations - like when you have to hold it above shoulder height for any length of time or use it confined spaces. So when this pack arrived I was pleased that both the driver and drill were as small and light as I hoped. What I could barely believe was that the little impact driver was way more powerful than my 18V combi beast. It also goes on much longer = I'm not sure how the battery ratings work, because both the 18V and this impact driver have 1.5ah batteries, but the impact driver just goes on and on. Great to have 1 of each as you can pilot hole with the drill and drive the screws in with the driver saving you having to change drill bits all the time.Batteries charge really quickly, not run them down yet to find out how long they last but not caused me a problem. For only about 30 more then the drill alone, it's well worth the extra money especially if you are planning on doing loft boarding or decking. Great product, though don't throw away your hammer drill as it maybe needed for the tough jobs. 4 of 4 people found the following review helpful This review is from: Hitachi KC10DFL 12-Volt Li-Ion Micro Driver Drill (Twin Pack) (DIY & Tools) I was slightly concerned about the potential torque and battery life of this set, since it is 'only' 10.8 / 12V. After reading other reviews I decided to give it a go.I have absolutely no regrets. I have mainly used the drill / driver so far. This has been for an industrial assembly job and so was used constantly all day, doing up nuts on metal panels. Some needed to be just over finger tight, and the control on the driver down at level 1 is great, it just nips them up without any shredding, this would also be needed for plaster board screwing etc. On the higher settings and drill setting the torque is more than enough, if it wasn't move over to the impact driver. One of the reasons I bought was having two batteries - one on charge one in use. As it happens the battery lasts so well, changing over is very infrequent and they charge much faster than they go down. The drill was also used by an older lady production operator and even though not strong, she easily handled... Read more |
