Before you buy this you need to be aware that the table functions (table saw, drill press and scroll saw) cannot be operated from the mains. Mains power is ONLY used to charge the battery-handles provided and these once docked, are used to power the table functions.Admittedly you can charge one handle whilst using the other but this did not make up for the fact that the table saw drained the batteries very quickly indeed. I cut three, 3-metre floorboards (19mm thick) along their length. Halfway through the fourth cut, the battery was drained. The same happened with the second battery despite the fact that both the batteries were fully charged. I have written to the manufacturers and suggested they develop an AC to DC converter that will enable owners to use the table functions direct from the mains. I await... Although I had other power tools passed down to me I have used the Power8 constantly and it has proved to be a vital tool for my renovations. The compact design makes for easy storage and I don't end up wasting time trying to find stuff as it's all there in one box. The tools are of great build quality, and seem to get any job done with ease. I also purchased the new AC-DC transformer, which allows me to run all the tools from the mains when I'm at home, but the product still offers all the flexibility of cordless tools.I work as a kitchen fitter, and having all the tools in one box means I just take the case from the van with a few hand tools and I don't have to go back again all day, as it seems to handle anything I throw at it! The extra thin circular saw blade does a great job of adjusting kitchen cabinets, having no problem at all with laminated chipboard, and the jigsaw is great for the awkward fittings.
